Photography that Defies Expectations of Reality by Raymond Bonavida

Re-Post Of StudioVox Crew - October 25th, 2016

Because I love this site and love what they do and are doing with spreading the word around of amazing artist in so many forms I am glad to have the opportunity to be able to re-post there daily post that I get from them straight in to my gmail.  Lucky me and lucky you since now I am posting them here.

No this is not some lame way for me in skating by and taking it easy in creating new post just for my blog here................ or is it.........  OK, maybe a little but really, for at least a couple of weeks now I have been wanting to figure out how to save all the wonderful emails I do get from them on a daily basis and only wish I had been doing it sooner but glad I am doing it now.

So I will probably be posting these past paragraphs for a little bit until I feel it is necessary not to do so and a link to StudioVox's site as you see below.

Combining traditional photography with a time exposure technique, Los Angeles based Art Photographer, Raymond Bonavida produces visually stunning images that defy our expectations of reality.
For Bonavida, photography is much more than a form of aesthetics; it is a critical examination of life and its contents. It's a reflection of all of the complexities that make life both beautiful and interesting. In this sense, photography has real value and Raymond believes it can have a huge impact on how we think and therefore act.
"What has truly resonated with me over time is the power of social dialogue to influence our thoughts and actions. In my personal search for meaningful ways to contribute to this dialogue, along with my studies of philosophy and psychology at UCLA, I discovered art," say Bonavida.
In time I found that the answers to the HOW and the WHY of our experiences are both complicated and elusive.  This led me to a more conceptual approach to photography with an emphasis on the role of cognition.
My hope is that my art can contribute to our social dialogue by questioning the structure of reality and its meaning. I believe that analysis of our thoughts and choices can help improve life for everyone. Together we can raise social awareness and activism, moving towards a more progressive future."
