Unauthorized Banksy Exhibition - Has Work Never Seen Before

The StudioVox Crew
Plans for an unauthorized Banksy exhibition in Rome are causing a stir. The show, titled "War, Capitalism & Liberty," has not been approved by the artist.
Internationally known, Banksy is of one of the world’s most respected (and notorious) street artists and activists who has captivated international audiences since the late 1990s.
In 2014, Banksy—whose true identity remains a mystery—appeared to react furiously when works were taken from the street to be exhibited and auctioned under the title "Stealing Banksy." Despite the fact that organizers insisted the works were “sensitively salvaged," the artist published a statement online criticizing the show. “I think it's disgusting people are allowed to go around displaying art on walls without getting permission," he said at the time, most likely aware of the ironic nature of such remarks coming from a street artist known for working illegally.
The Rome exhibit, touching on big global issues - is Banksy full throttle. His work, usually showcased on the exterior of buildings in grey London streets, Banksy’s work will be seen as it never has before in Rome’s Palazzo Cupola museum.
Crammed with over 120 original paintings, prints, sculptures, rare objects and, no doubt, large crowds, the curated exhibition promises to show a rich, unrivalled, career-spanning public view of Banksy’s vast collection of work.
The exhibit will celebrate Banksy’s unique brand of satire, humour and dedication to giving a voice to those who can’t be heard. Here, we’ve collected some of his works to wet your appetite.  War, Capitalism and Liberty will be held in the Palazzo Cipolla museum, Rome, from 24 May - 4 September.
