Art favors no nation, favors no race and is the one true medium that requests only that we consider it as our one true global language.  Art unites the world, through visual stories and sensory experiences.
It brings together people and communities who speak different languages and live a world away from one another. Art can ignite action, drive an agenda, heal broken spirits, offer hope, or simply just bring a smile to your face.
Today, we celebrate illustrators who share different visual perspectives and experiences on story telling through art.  Each artist with unique talents and viewpoints, but together all speaking the beautiful, inspirational language of art.

But I think it's my desire to work in the cinema industry that inspires me the most," she says.
"I have a little habit of choosing actors that I really like in order to practice drawing their gestures and expressions. Doing that, I realized that it would be awesome if I could animate with their voice one day, drawing them while they are dubbing..."

Artist Martin Wickstrom has been working in commercial arts since 2003, mainly in publishing, with focus on children´s illustration in recent years. From 2013-2015 he worked as an in-house illustrator for the award winning early literacy app Learn with Homer.
His main source of inspiration comes from mid-century illustrators like Alice and Martin Provensen, Aurelius Battaglia, Art Seiden, Lowell Hess and JP Miller.

Growing up in the Swedish woods, drawing provided Martin with an escape from the darkness of the north, a hobby turned habit that followed him relentlessly through his school notebooks. After giving up the idea of a career in professional circus clowning, and after realizing he couldn´t go back in time to be a one-legged pirate or a 16th century explorer, he simply kept on drawing, effectively and shamelessly eliminating any other career prospects. Fortunately, things came together and these days people pay him to draw circus clowns, one-legged pirates, and 16th century explorers.
