Because I love this site and love what they do and are doing with spreading the word around of amazing artist is so many forms I am glad to have the opportunity to be able to re-post there daily post that I get from them straight in to my gmail.  Lucky me and lucky you since now I am posting them here.

No this is not some lame way for me in skating by and taking it easy in creating new post just for my blog here................ or is it.........  OK, maybe a little but really, for at least a couple of weeks now I have been wanting to figure out how to save all the wonderful emails I do get from them on a daily basis and only wish I had been doing it sooner but glad I am doing it now.

So I will probably be posting these past paragraphs for a little bit until I feel it is necessary not to do so and a link to StudioVox's site as you see below.

Artist of The Week - Liisa Berezkin

The StudioVox Crew
Each week, StudioVox selects an artist, photographer, or designer from our community whose work inspires us creatively. Whether for its beauty, humor, detail, or the story behind the work StudioVox features artists we love that we think you'll enjoy too.
Liisa Berezkin is a globe trotting, multicultural artist based in Tokyo, Japan. Originally from Estonia, she has also lived in Russia. Her exposure to different countries and cultures from a young age has made her treasure new experiences and opened her eyes to the beauty of people.
As all artists know, the creation of art and the artists' journey is never a straight line. It's typically a twisting, turning culmination of life experiences fused together into a path that blooms into creative passion.
Such has been the creative journey for Lissa.  After obtaining her bachelor degree in textile arts from Tartu Art College in Estonia, she tried out several different paths (including being an art and art history teacher in junior high school and high school), before turning to her long-time interest Japanese language and culture. Liisa has lived in Japan for 6 years and finished research programs and graduate studies in sociology of religion. She is currently in the PhD program in the same subject.
Never content to commit herself to only one endeavour, she also holds art classes for mentally and physically disabled people, teaches English to kids of all ages and occasionally writes reports about Japanese life to Estonian media.
Her work inspires us as artists to recognize that there is room for the creation of art regardless of different paths chosen and numerous areas of interest  - They can all lead back to art.
While art is not currenly her main profession, it's become a passion and lifeforce that's difficult to ignore. Drawing and sketching in the spare time, evenings and during night-time, it creates a special world of self-discovery and re-discovery. The main inspiration for Liisa's art are people and ornaments. She combines the two to create stylized portraits that are embellished with intricate patterns. Loving both the colors and black and white linework, there is never a dull moment in her creative space. All works are made with ballpoint pen and Copic markers.
