Re-Post Of StudioVox Crew - May 16th, 2016

Because I love this site and love what they do and are doing with spreading the word around of amazing artist is so many forms I am glad to have the opportunity to be able to re-post there daily post that I get from them straight in to my gmail.  Lucky me and lucky you since now I am posting them here.

No this is not some lame way for me in skating by and taking it easy in creating new post just for my blog here................ or is it.........  OK, maybe a little but really, for at least a couple of weeks now I have been wanting to figure out how to save all the wonderful emails I do get from them on a daily basis and only wish I had been doing it sooner but glad I am doing it now.

So I will probably be posting these past paragraphs for a little bit until I feel it is necessary not to do so and a link to StudioVox's site as you see below.

Artist Writes Over 3000 Letters to The Ocean For 13 Years

The StudioVox Crew
Every day for 13 years, Pittsburg-based artist John Peña sent a letter addressed to the Pacific Ocean. He has continued doing this daily act amassing over 3,000 letters that have been returned to him with the US Postal Service stamp saying “no such place exists.”
The artist posted on Instagram that he had forgotten to bring envelopes with him while he was traveling. He declined the offer from a friend for a few envelopes in assorted sizes, saying instead that he would purchase the envelopes that he typically uses. When his friend said, “Really? I thought the ocean would like variety,” the artist responded, “You’re right.”
Using the hashtag #changetakestime, he says, “Now after 12 years of sending the same size letter, I’m finally mixing it up!”
Peña is an illustrator, artist, and an educator that uses his art as a way of “exploring the natural world and his daily interactions” according to his artist’s bio.
